Sep 27-28,2003: The 1 st Dalian International Walking Festival. 30,000 walkers including walkers from Japan , Korea and Taiwan Province walked for the two days. The oldest walker was 80; youngest was 7.
May 22-23, 2004: The 2 nd Dalian International Walking Festival. The theme of ”°Health, Peace and Communications”± attracted 76,000 Dalian citizens' attendance.
May 28-29, 2005: The 3 rd Dalian International Walking Festival. This year's theme was ”°Walking in Dalian , An Opportunity of Spreading Lives”±. 230,000 citizens and over 1000 foreign guests walked together.
April 8-9, 2006: The 4 th Dalian International Walking Festival. The theme of ”°Walking towards An International IML City”± encouraged more than 270,000 citizens' attendance. IML observers Mr. Termont and Mr. Ebashi supervised the event.
April 27, 2006: On the general meeting of IML in Vancouver , Washington State, USA , 24 members passed the proposal that Dalian was officially accepted as one of the formal members. That's the moment when Dalian finally became and IML city.
